1. Eat More Vegetables (and Fruits)

Vegetables are loaded with Fiber and Phytonutrients that help support healthy hormones specifically your insulin levels. Fiber helps our elimination and digestive organs to rid the body of the hormones you’ve used and to keep them from becoming free radicals in your body.

So how do you add more vegetables into your daily diet?

  • Fill at least 50% of your plate with vegetables at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

  • Start your meals with Eating your Veggies First.

  • Have Veggies and Hummus for your afternoon snack

  • For Breakfast add veggies to eggs

  • Have a side of fruit with breakfast or lunch

2. Breathe

Chronic Stress can send our adrenal glands into overdrive and pump our bodies with a concoction of cortisol and adrenaline. If we are in a constant state of stress it wreaks havoc on our blood sugar and endocrine system. By learning and using simple breath techniques you can send the message to your adrenal glands and your nervous system that you are safe and bring yourself back to a state of calm.

What’s an easy breath that you can pull out whenever you’re about to lose it?

Deep Belly’s Breath

  • Place a both hands on your belly

  • Breath deep into your belly feeling your belly rise and expand like a balloon for a count of 6.

  • Pause at the top for just a moment.

  • Breath out feeling your belly fall and contract for a count of 6.

  • Repeat for at least 6 rounds

  • Extra Tip! This works great for your kids too, Mama! Once you teach them The Deep Belly’s Breath, (we call it Dragons Breath) whenever they are having a hard time you can give them a gentle reminder to find their Dragons Breath.

3. Drink up Buttercup

WATER!! Dehydration messes with your glandular function and can cause hormonal imbalance. Drinking water helps flush toxins from your body and helps keep your cells functioning at an optimal level. Also with all that extra fiber you're eating you're going to want to support the elimination process with water.

How much water do you ask? About half your weight in ounces. Example (if you weigh 150lbs, you should drink 75 ounces of water every day)

So get yourself a cute stainless steel water bottle and drink up, Mama!
